PURPOSE:To shorten time required for typing by recognizing the form of a character drawn by a handwriting input, and performing printing operation according to the recognition information. CONSTITUTION:In a handwriting input register 82, sensor points of a character form drawn on a sensor group 12 are stored successively after being converted into codes, and they are compared with patterns in a standard pattern memory 91 through a comparing circuit 92 to make a decision. The character form after the decision is stored in an input memory RAM96 for display in the form of character pattern signals 97-99. Those character form pattern signals are converted by a trailing character form generating circuit 110 into dot signals, which are displayed on a handwriting display part 13 as a character. Further, a converted character form generating cuicuit 111, a converted character form selecting circuit 112, a print display part 14, and a dot conversion part 113 form a complete sentence, which is printed by a printing head 2. |
