<p>Thermoplastic resin articles are produced by forming granules by cutting a continuous strand of thermoplastic material extruded at the outlet of an extruder onto threads or fibres passed continuously through the extruder so that the threads or fibres adhere to the resin by the action of the pressure and the heat exercised by the resin at the moment of its extrusion, and then moulding the product in a machine in which the resin is at least partly melted. Used for producing fibre reinforced thermoplastic resin articles by rotational casting. The fibres are fully wetted by the resin, and uniformly reinforced articles are obtained.</p> |
