PURPOSE:To prevent a conveying mechanism from malfunctioning at a floating part of the binding part, etc. of book originals, by using a beltlike conveying mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A press roller assembly 12 for sheet original conveyance consists principally of press rollers 13 and 14, a reflecting plate 15, and a casing 16; and the press rollers 13 comes into contact with an up-side conveyor belt 4 at a pulley 2, and the press roller 14 comes into contact with a down-side conveyor belt 7 at a pulley 5 to be driven by the conveyor belts 4 and 7 respectively. For conveyance, the book originals while pressed from above to spread the originals are placed at a prescribed position on the up-side conveyor belt 4 and then sent to the 2nd sensor 19 arranged on the upper side of an exposure part 1. Once the 1st sensor 18 starts operating, the belt 4 is driven and when the front end of the original is detected by the 2nd sensor 19, the belt 4 is stopped temporarily at the position; amd the belt is restarted after the operation of a photosensitive drum 17, etc., is held in readiness, thereby performing the exposure scanning of the book originals. |
