PURPOSE:To precisely measure diffusivity of heat, by using, as a parameter, the product of a relaxation coefficient of a heat loss curve of a sample temperature, and time t1/2 required for making a temperature of reverse side of the sample reach 1/2 of its maximum value, and also taking thickness (l) of a sample into consideration. CONSTITUTION:To one surface of a disk-like sample 1 whose radius and thickness are (a) and (l), respectively, laser light is irradiated instantaneously as indicated with an arrow 2, and its temperature rise thetal is observed by a thermocouple contact 3 attached to the other surface. In this case, when a coefficient Kb is decided (provided that alpha=Kbl<2>/t1/2, (alpha) is diffusivity of heat of a sample) by using as a parameter the product of a relaxation coefficient K of a heat loss curve of a sample temperature, and time t1/2 required for making a temperature of sample reverse side reach 1/2 of its maximum value, and also taking thickness (l) of a sample into consideration, it is unnecessary to device a parameter required for compensation, at every measurement, and the diffusivity of heat can be measured precisely. |
