摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an ion exchange material which is low in pressure loss, can expect the enhancement of treating capacity, is excellent in ion exchangeability and necessitates no separation apparatus, by flocking an ion exchangeable fiber of which the ion exchange capacity and the fiber length are in a specific range on a base material. CONSTITUTION:In a synthetic fiber having an ion exchange group, an ion exchangeable fiber of which the ion exchange capacity is 0.1-3 milliequivalent and the fiber length is 0.2-10mm. is flocked on a base material to prepare an ion exchange material. Said ion exchangeable fiber comprising a staple fiber or a fiber two and, in the case of the staple fiber, it is cut to 0.2-10mm. in a sliver or a yarn condition and, from a flocking amount per a unit area and the ion exchange capacity of the ion exchangeable fiber, the ion exchange capacity as the flocked ion exchange material can be appropriately adjusted in the preparation thereof. Especailly, about the ion exchangeable fiber, flocking pretreatment as shown in a general flocking process is not generally necessitated because of the moisture absorption of a hydrophilic group possessed by itself.
