<p>PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of scum in a closed hydraulic two-storied methane gas-fermenting tank, by providing a material-charging opening leading to a lower cell near the central part of the tank and openings for transferring fermentative liquid between upper and lower cells at several positions on the periphery of the lower cell. CONSTITUTION:Organic waste matter subjected to treatment such as crushing is charged through a material-charging opening 7 into the lower cell 3 of a fermenting tank. The charged material is anaerobically fermented in the cell, and scum is formed on the water surface with the advancement of digestion. When gas in a gas pocket 5 is recovered through gas-recovering pipes 12,fermentative liquid pushed up into an upper cell 2 by the relationship between pressures in the upper and lower cells is let flow through transferring openings 11 and returned to the lower cell 3. The fermentative liquid transferred from the upper cell 2 comes in contact with buffle plates 9 and partition plates 6, to crush the scum floating on the water surface and to disperse it into the cell. When the transferring openings are provided at several positions, the transferring currents are formed at the several positions. Consequently, the effect of crushing the scum is sufficiently produced.</p> |
