PURPOSE:To stabilize even a comparatively unstable high voltage generating source with a simple means, by connecting a discharge element always possible for discharge in parallel between an anode and ground of a picture tube, in supplying a high voltage to the picture tube. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage is supplied to an anode terminal 4 of a picture tube 5 from an output terminal 3 of a high voltage generating source 15. Although the high voltage generated from the source 15 includes a fluctuating component, the voltage is stabilized to a discharge start voltage with a discharge element 16 always dischargeable and having a lower discharge start voltage than the high voltage. The source 15 has about 2 Mohms of output resistance, but a current limit resistor 17 can be inserted, as required. Thus, even for a high voltage generating source comparatively unstable, the stabilization can be done. Since the voltage can not increase extremely in this circuit, this circuit can also be used for an X-ray protection circuit. |
