<p>PURPOSE:To prolong the life of an adhered activated carbon filter accommodated in an apparatus for treating a gas in an emergency by an extremely simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:A gas treating apparatus is equipped with a mist separator 10 removing water droplets in a gas, a high capacity filter 11 collecting fine particles in the gas almost perfectly, a prefilter 12 for preventing the clogging of the high capacity filter 11, an added activated carbon filter 13 adsorbing a radioactive iodine compound not removed by the high capacity filter 11 and a high capacity filter 14 preventing the re-scattering of fine particles of activated carbon adsorbed and collected by the added activated carbon filter 13 and the interior of a main body 15 is evacuated by a vacuum exhausting apparatus 18 to discharge impurities, oxygen and moisture from the interior of the main body to interrupt the activated carbon from the atmospheric air. By this mechanism, the dewing of the activated carbon filter can be prevented and the life thereof can be prolonged.</p> |
