PURPOSE:To prevent misalignment and generation of chattering in roll machining, by supporting a main spindle with bearings in its point end and root end parts, mounting a work to the main spindle, supporting the work with rolls, and then releasing the bearing in the root end part thus performing the roll machining. CONSTITUTION:A work is mounted to a mandrel 3, and a main spindle 5, equipped with the mandrel 3, is supported by a conical roller bearing 14, receiving radial and thrust loads, at the point end side of the spindle, while supported by a bearing 19, supported by an oil hydraulic cylinder 21, at the root end side of the spindle. The work is mounted to the mandrel 3, after starting spinning machining by rolls 4a, 4b, 4c, not shown in the drawing, etc., supporting of the bearing 19 is released, and the main spindle 5 and the mandrel 3 are supported by the bearing 14 at the point end side and the rolls 4a, 4b. The main spindle 5 is connected to a driving shaft 23 through a synchromesh joint 22, rotated and driven. |
