The invention relates to a safety ski binding, having a binding housing, which bears a tread arm and is mounted so that it can be swivelled up about a first horizontal transverse axle which is fixed to the ski in the vertical direction, a sole-holder, a swivel part which is mounted about a second horizontal transverse axle, supported on the binding housing and located with spacing ahead of the first horizontal transverse axle, bears a control cam on its front side facing the ski boot and is loaded from its rearside by a catch spring arranged in the binding housing, and having a stop part which is assigned to the control cam and is supported fixedly on the ski in the vertical direction. The underlying object of the invention is to design a ski binding of the generic type explained at the beginning in such a way that, with a short constructional length and simple construction, it has a sole-holder which adapts itself automatically to the height of the heel over a predetermined range and additionally guarantees convenient putting-on and reliable release of the ski boot. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the swivel part bears the sole-holder at its upper end region, is mounted on the second transverse axle at its lower end region, and bears the control cam between the sole-holder and second transverse axle, in such a way that the spacing between the tread arm and the sole-holder is greater in the release position than in the skiing position. <IMAGE> |
