PURPOSE:To obtain a signal of superior picture quality by processing respective color signals obtained from an image pickup element corresponding to additive complementary color filters and thus generating a color moire signal which shows the operation conditions of the generation of a color moire, and then controlling the transmission of color signals according to its level. CONSTITUTION:Video signals which correspond to four kind of colors, i.e. G, W, Cy, and Ye appear on four output lines 9 of a solid-state image pickup element 10, and they are inputted to a matrix circuit 12 through a preamplifier 11 and also inputted to a color moire detecting circuit 22. In the circuit 22, two adders 221 and 222 and a subtracter 223 perform arithmetic to generate a color moire signal on an output line 23, and the signal is supplied to a gain control circuit 24. A luminance signal Y and red and blue color signals R and B sent from the matrix circuit 12 through output lines 13 and 14 are converted by a processing circuit 15 into signals Y, R-Y, and B-Y; as the color moire signal rises in level, the gain of the circuit 24 decreases, so a chroma signal appearing at the output of an encoder circuit 18 drops in level. Therefore, the color difference signals R-Y and B-Y are given picture quality close to that of a black-and-white screen. |
