<p>The tractor drawn hopper (2) is equipped with an oscillating spreader beak (5) and is used to distribute agricultural fertilisers. The beak is oscillated by a rotary drive shaft (7) through a transmission comprised of a universal joint coupling, being connected to a countershaft (12) secured to a yoke (10) by a bearing spider (11). Power may be derived from the tractor and the yoke may be mounted in a flywheel (9) in turn mounted on a disc (8) fixed to the shaft. The countershaft may fork to locate a normal axle supporting the beak, the disc being fitted with inertia blocks counterbalancing the mass of the yoke.</p> |
