<p>PURPOSE:To prevent any hindrance due to a paper jam from occurring, by installing a transfer paper winding detecting element in the ring recessed part installed in an end of a fixing roller as corresponding to a toner's nonsticking part of the transfer paper, and detecting a state of nonseparation of the transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:The transfer paper 1 developed in a transfer part at the up stream is conveyed to space between fixing rollers 4a and 4b having a heater inside each, and fixed with an image after being heated and pressurized, then it is fed to a discharge roller 3. A ring recessed part 11a of width D1 is formed in an end of the fixing roller 4a as corresponding to a part of the transfer paper 1 where toner is not applied, and a winding detecting device 12 is installed therein. If the transfer paper 1 is not normally separated from the fixing roller 4 and conveyed in leaving it wound intact, a detecting arm 13a detects this fact, operating a detecting switch 13. And, when it is normally separated, a sensor 5 detecting the transfer paper 1 comes to nonoperation. Therefore, rota tion of the roller is stopped at once, and the heater of the roller also opens a power source. With this constitution, any hindrance due to winding is prevented from occurring.</p> |
