PURPOSE:To analyze particles with limited memories by reading out sizes of particles into a memory incorporated into a computer one at a time as information on particles size from two memories into which sizes of particles were written with a alternative switching thereof in a coulter counter. CONSTITUTION:Signals from a control circuit 3 turn on first and third switching circuits 5 and 7 to actuate an address signal generation circuit 4. Particles are detected with a particle detector 1 and sent into an analog-digital conversion circuit 2 and signals are memorized into an address of a first memory 9 according to the size of particles. As the first memory 9 is filled, a trigger signal is emitted through a computer 13 to select second and fourth switching circuits 6 and 8 and the circuit 4 is reset to zero. Subsequently, as soon as writing into a second memory 10 is started, addresses of the first memory 9 are accessed sequentially with an arithmetic circuit 11 to screen the contents into the memory 12. Upon the end of writing into the second memory 10, the writing is changed over to the first memory 9 to perform a screening for a memory 12 from the second memory 10. |
