PURPOSE:To produce a magnetic brush with excellent cleaning property, by forming the magnetic brush with a magnetic toner having <=45% powder compressibility. CONSTITUTION:A powder compressibility alpha is indicated with an expression alpha=(V1-V2)/V1 when the volume of the toner per unit weight in the normal state and the volume of the toner which is excited with tapping or the like and is packed are denoted as V1 and V2 respectively. When this compressibility alpha is reduced, the toner is superior in fluidity, and the toner layer density in the magnetic brush and the cleaning rubbing part becomes high, and a strong rubbing force is obtained. Then, the compressibility alpha is set to <=45%. Thus, the density of the toner remaining on a latent image carrier is kept in a good cleaning state of <=0.02%. |
