The invention relates to a device for dispensing cotton-wool balls, having a two-part receiving container for the cotton-wool balls, one part of which is provided with a passage opening which is partially closed by webs of essentially circular cross-section and through which the cotton-wool balls are pressed by means of a relative movement of the two parts of the receiving container for the purpose of removal. The invention is intended to provide a device for dispensing cotton-wool balls, which facilitates refilling, requires less constructional expenditure, and exerts an even pressure on the cotton-wool balls. Additionally, during use of the device, the pressure on the cotton-wool balls is to be able to be increased to any desired extent, passage of the cotton-wool balls through the passage opening is to be facilitated, tearing of the cotton-wool balls and felting thereof are to be prevented and the operability is generally to be facilitated. This is achieved in that the relative movement of the two parts of the receiving container is achieved by gravity, and the diameter of the webs corresponds essentially to the radius of the cotton-wool balls. <IMAGE>
