PURPOSE:To prevent production of brake noises and improve a damping characteristic of a brake drum by providing the outer periphery of the brake drum with cooling fins radially projected which are peripherally not uniform in height. CONSTITUTION:The outer periphery of a brake drum 10 is provided with a plurality of cooling fins 11 projected thereon to be integral therewith, which are adapted to emit friction heat produced at the time of braking to the outside with high efficiency. These fins 11 are extended parallel to the axis of rotation of the brake drum 10 and peripherally separated from each other. All of these fins 11 have the same thickness 1, and the heights h1, h2, h3..., that is, the thickness of the fins 11 along the radial direction of the brake drum 10 is at random and different from each other, so that the sympathetic point of the brake drum 10 itself is dispersed. |
