PURPOSE:To prevent completely the erroneous counting, by extending the detection signal of a step sensor to obtain one impulsive output signal for every one step and converting the pulse width of this signal to a certain time to count the pulse. CONSTITUTION:A step sensor 20 detects the vertical motion of a human body to supply a detection signal (a) to a signal extending circuit 30. This signal (a) is converted to a waveform (b), where the trailing edge is gently-sloping, by an integrating network consisting of a capacitor C and a variable resistance R1 or R2 selected by a changeover switch SW in the circuit 30, and the time constant of the integral network is selected properly to obtain one output (d) in the output of a transistor Tr2 for every on step. A pulse width converting circuit 40 converts the pulse width of the output signal of the circuit 30 to a certain time, and an output signal (e) of the circuit 40 is counted as a step by a following counter 50 and is displayed on a display 60. Thus, one signal is always inputted to the counter for every one step even if the user walks at a high pace, and the erroneous counting is prevented completely. |
