In the case of a cable plug connector having a housing which has a cable entry region and a contact region, two cable outlet directions are selectable. In order to achieve large-scale production (which is as cost-saving as possible) of this cable plug connector and in order to achieve a simple production capability of the desired cable outlet direction at the installation site, the housing consists of two parts which can be separated and joined together in the cable entry region - preferably by hand (manually) - whose separating surfaces run obliquely with respect to the plug longitudinal axis. It is particularly expedient to produce the housing parts from elastic synthetic material (plastic) and to provide a latching holder on their separating surfaces as well as an annular sealing lip on one of the separating surfaces.
