Photopolymerisation processes and photoactivators which are suitable for these processes

Processes for polymerising ethylenically unsaturated compounds by exposing the ethylenically unsaturated compounds in the presence of a) at least one organic photoinitiator from the group comprising the monocarbonyl and dicarbonyl compounds, and b) at least one photoactivator of the general formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and X have the meaning given in the description, are suitable, due to the fact that they are toxicologically harmless, for use in medicine.
