PURPOSE:To increase the number of washing stages for sand and to improve a washing effect by forming plural sweeping-up chambers in a water tank, sweeping up the sand successively in the respective sweeping-up chambers and spraying washing water. CONSTITUTION:Sand is supplied from above the arrow mark of a water tank 1 into sweeping-up chambers (a) at the rear end thereof, and a sweeping-up plates 10 are turned around a revolving shaft 7 via sweeping-up arms 9. The sand deposited on the tank bottom is swept up along the circumferential walls and upright walls 2a in the tank, is carried up to the top edges of partition plates 2, drops into the next sweeping-up chambers (a), and is guided by sloped plates 2b and deposits on the tank bottom. While the swept up the sand is washed by the water sprayed from nozzles 13 in the upper part emerging from the water surface, the sand is supplied into the next sweeping-up chambers (a). Thus the sand supplied in the tank 1 is fed successively forward in the respective chambers (a), and are subjected to repetition of sweeping up and wasing, whereby the org. materials deposited thereon are separated and the washed sand is discharged to the outside through a discharge port 6. |
