PURPOSE:To rapidly obtain a superior color image even with a small amount of a developing agent by forming a polymer layer permeable to an alkali processing soln. and an aromatic primary amine developing agent or a precursor thereof on the same side of a support as a hydrophilic colloidal layer is present at the outermost position. CONSTITUTION:A polymer layer permeable to an alkali processing soln. and an aromatic primary amine developing agent or a precursor thereof is formed on the same side of a color photosensitive material as the hydrophilic colloidal layer is present as a layer at the outermost position. The polymer is represented by the formula (where A is a monomer unit of vinylidene chloride or copolymerizable conjugated dinene, B is a monomer unit of a copolymerizable ethylenic unsatd. acid or a salt thereof, C is a unit of a copolymerizable ethylenic unsatd. monomer, x is 50-99.5wt%, y is 0.5-10wt% and z is 0-49.5wt%). Thus, a developing agent or a precursor thereof contained in the sensitive material ensures sufficient color developing density, and a color image almost free from fog and a stain is rapidly obtd. The resulting sensitive material is suitable for automatic development.
