PURPOSE:To provide a subject printer which prevents an electrostriction member from being caught in a recording medium and has an improved dot quality, by constituting the printer such that an end surface, where the electrostriction member and a magnetostriction member contact a recording medium, is widened, and ink, extruded to the opening formed therein, is caused to be adhered to the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A projection 12a is formed on an forward end surface positioned facing and opposite to a recording medium 11 of an electrostriction member 12, and a support aperture 13 is machined in the forward end thereof. A connecting porous core member 20 is located in the support aperture 13 in a manner that it contacts the total peripheral wall of the aperture 13, and ink 19 in an ink storage part 16 is impregnated through an ink pass hole 15. With the polarization of the electrostriction member 12 in an electric field produced by two electrodes 21, the electrostriction member 12 expands in the direction of the recording medium 11, and simultaneously, it is reduced in the total capacity of the support aperture 13. A part of the ink 19 in the support aperture 13 is extruded to the opening of the aperture 13 and is adhered to the recording medium 11 to form a dot. |
