摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a surge absorbing circuit and to enhance the efficiency of a single phase reversible AC/DC converting circuit by connecting a series circuit of thyristors of anti-parallel connection and a condenser between AC terminals of the converting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A single phase reversible AC/DC converting circuit using GTO1-4 is composed, two thyristors 21, 22 of anti-parallel connection and a condenser 23 are connected in series with each other, thereby forming a surge absorbing circuit, which is connected between AC terminals of the converting circuit. In this manner, the energy contained in the inductance 18 of the circuit at the time of interrupting the current is alternately stored temporarily in the condenser 23, thereby forming the circuit having less loss. Thus, the condenser 23 can be commonly used in each GTO, thereby reducing excessive circuits.
