<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the thick film resistor material to be used for the machines generally used for domestic appliances as well as for the parts to be installed on automobiles by a method wherein the trimming length in right-angled direction to an electrode is formed in excess of 40% or more of the distance between electrodes, and the reliability against a surge current, variation by aging and the like is increased. CONSTITUTION:The trimming by laser is started at point (a) of the thick film resistor 2, the trimming direction is changed in right-angled direction to electrodes 1 and 1' at the point b before the target resistance value is reached, a trimming is conducted conforming to the locus, which was designated in advance so that the relations between the trimming length l in right-angled direction and the distance L between the electrodes become l>=0.4L, and the direction of trimming is changed at the point (c) in the direction in which the trimming was started. If the resistance value, to be used as the reference of judgement of point (b), is experimentally calculated taking into consideration the shape and thickness of the thick film resistor 2, the subsequent trimming locus and the like, the final resistance value can be suppressed within + or -5% of the target resistance value.</p> |
