PURPOSE:To easily recover a magnetic metal and a base film to use them again, by cutting a ferromagnetic metal film type magnetic tape into pieces of appropriate lengths, and separating the base film and the magnetic metal from each other by soaking them into a surface active agent solution. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic tapes obtained by evaporating a ferromagnetic metallic film on a polyester base are cut into pieces of appropriate lengths and the cut pieces are put into a surface active agent solution and agitated. Then, the solution penetrates into the interface between both materials and separates the magnetic film from the base film. The separated magnetic film is recovered by means of a magnet and base film pieces a filter. To accerelate the separation, the solution is heated and a ultrasonic wave is used. Since the film base and the magnetic metal can be recovered under pure condition, they can be used again. |
