PURPOSE:To transmit and receive image and code information efficiently, by providing a phase for the character code transmission and reception if required, during the execution of a transmission control procedure performed only for the transmission and reception of facsimile information. CONSTITUTION:A transmission and reception phase of a character information frame is not used but executed until an attribute information notice for the confirmation of opposing party is finished, is located just after the phases B and D. To avoid the effect on the standard G3 FAX transmission procedure, the phase can be passed through for an FAX having no character information frame. The rules being the transmission procedure of code transmission and reception in the character phase such as format, direction of transmission and reception, timing of transmission and reception and error recovery can be existed in the operation level. In the transmission speed, the low or high speed mode can be used depending on the ability of FAX. |
