PURPOSE:To analyze a titled isomer easily and accurately, by allowing to react with R- or S-2-(4-chlorophenyl) isovaleric acid and leading said isomer to a diastereoisomer derivative and then, separating said derivative. CONSTITUTION:An optical isomer of alcohol or amine having asymmetric carbon is analyzed by allowing R- or S-2-(4-chlorophenyl) isovaleric acid to react with a mixture of an optical isomer of alcohol or amine having asymmetric carbon using as a derivative reagent and leading said isomer to diasteroisomer derivative and then, separating each optical isomer by gas chromatography or high- speed liquid chromatography. In order to lead to an ester or amido derivative by allowing R- or S-2-(4-chlorophenyl) isovaleric acid to react with the alcohol or amine, it is preferable to use a method undergoing reaction in the form of carboxylic acid chloride. |
