PURPOSE:To improve response of an engine, by supplying additional fuel into the cylinder when the accelerator pedal is depressed during no-load operation of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A no-load detector 11 for detecting no-load operation of an engine 1 and an acceleration detector 12 for detecting acceleration of the engine 1 are connected to an electronic control unit 10 for controlling fuel injection of a fuel injection valve 5, so that the fuel injection valve 5 injects additional fuel into an intake passage during the suction stroke of the engine at the time when the engine is accelerated under no-load operation. Since additional fuel is thus supplied when the accelerator pedal is depressed during no-load operation of the engine, fuel supplied to the cylinder is increased, so that the engine speed can be increased with high response. |
