PURPOSE:To reduce a load due to space codes which are not significant print parts, and to reduce storage capacity, by controlling addresses of significant print codes according to an attribute code shwoing successive spaces, and a digit-number display code. CONSTITUTION:According to an attribute code for showing successive spaces and a digit-number display code succeeding the attribute code, addresses of significant print codes in a print data register are controlled. For example, when a control circuit 1 detects a print instruction in data sent over the channel of a CPU, the print data register 7 and an address register 6 are reset, and print data are inputted to a data buffer register 2. Then, a decision switch 3 decides on the presence of the attribute code and when the presence is not detected, every storage unit of the print data is addressed through a selector 4 and a logical operation unit ALU5. When the attribute code is detected, arithmetic by the ALU5 is interrupted and arithmetic is performed by a digit-number code to add the input digit-number code, thereby outputting the sum. |
