PURPOSE:To precisely detect the position of a moving machine while checking a detector by using >=2 kinds of position indexes arranged on the stop position of the moving machine in a fixed order and comparing the order of their detecting signals with correct signal order. CONSTITUTION:A detecting part 23 is fitted to a wheel 11 of a machine moving along a rail 4. The detecting part 23 has two detectors 261, 262 aligned in the travelling direction. Position indexes 25 are attached to the surface of a floor. Two kinds of indexes 251, 253 having different shapes each other are used for the position indexes 25 and arranged on the stop position of the machine in a fixed order. Accompanied with the moving of the machine, detecting signals from the two detectors are turned on and off. The changing orde of the detecting signals are compared with the stored correct order to check the present position. The stored contents are updated in accordance with the moving direction. |
