PURPOSE:To reduce noise with a simple construction, by a method wherein cooling or heating capability can be varied by changing over the inflow and outflow directions of a refrigerant or hot water passed through a heat exchanger, in a cooler-heating such that a cool air flow or a warm air flow is obtained by a refrigerant or hot water passed through a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Hot water flows from a heat source 11 into an inlet 13 of the heat exchanger 12 through a four-way valve 15 as indicated by solid-line arrows, returns to the heat source through an outlet 14 and the valve 15, while releasing heat at the heat exchanger 12. Then, the valve 15 is changed over to cause the hot water to flow in the opposite direction as indicated by dotted-line arrows. Since the heat-exchanging effiency is largely changed by reversing the flowing direction of the hot air passed through the heat exchanger 12, the heat-exchanging capability can be changed while maintaining the rotating speed of a blower 16 to be constant. A similar effect is achieved also in a cooling operation. Accordingly, the harsh change of noise at the time of changing the rotating speed of the blower can be eliminated, and noise can be reduced. |
