PRODUCTION OF NOVEL ENZYME A BY MICROORGANISM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an enzyme A capable of providing levorotatory mandelic acid when used as a catalyst for cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptococcus and reducing benzoylformic acid. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism [e.g. Streptococcus.faecalis (IFO 12964), etc.], belonging to the genus Streptococcus and capable of producing D-2- hydroxyisocaproic acid dehydrogenase (emzyme A) having the ability to reduce benzoylformic acid, is cultivated preferably at about 30 deg.C, normally for 15-25 hr by a shaking culture method to provide the aimed enzyme A from the resultant culture.
