摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve a higher detection sensitivity while a light source device is made less in the size and the power consumption with a greater sensitivity thereof by irradiating an exciting light on material to be analyzed appearing at the output of a separation column of a liquid chromatograph in a pulse-like emission. CONSTITUTION:A sample 5 from a sampling valve 6 is put into column 7 to which an eluent liquid flows with a pump 2. Material appearing at an outlet 8 of the column 7 runs down to a drain 10 through the surface of an irradiation plate 9. A pulse-like beam from a nitrogen laser device 12 irradiates the material on the surface of the irradiation plate 9 in a black box 22 and fluorescence emitted is inputted as an electric output into a detector 21 via an electron multiplier 18 driven with a power source 19. A part of a laser beam is inputted into a detector 21 with a photoelectronic converter 24 branched with a splitter 23 to operate it synchronizing pulses. With the introduction of pulses through an optical fiber 35, the material 38 from the column may be placed on the end of the fiber 35 and the fluorescence emitted introduced to the detector through an optical fiber 34. This can improve the sensitivity.
