PURPOSE:To realize a folding test with high reliability, by cutting of the ascending signal of a repeater at the next stage in a repeating device to which the folding is designated. CONSTITUTION:A terminal station TS is connected to numbers of repeating devices RP0-RP2,... having the same constitution via the ascending and descending optical transmission lines LA0-LA2,... and LB0-LB2,.... When the TS transmits the signal indicating the folding of the RP1, a receiving part RSA1 of a descending repeating part RA1 of the RP1 is folded via an optical switch control part SWC1 to turn on an optical switch SWA1. Then the received signal is relayed to the RP2 via a gate GA1 and a light emitting part LDA1 and at the same time transmitted to an ascending repeating part RB1 via the SWA1. In the RP2, the RSA2 detects the folding of the RP1 and turns off a gate GB2 via a gate control part SCA2 to cut off the ascending transmission signal. Thus the TS can receive only the signal folded from the RP1. |
