PURPOSE:To prevent seizure, abnormal abrasion, etc. of a supercharger by disposing a restriction means for restricting a back flow of fuel in the suction passage of a supplementary charging system in the downstream of said supercharger and by controlling the back flow of fuel to said supercharger. CONSTITUTION:During a lower load operation of an engine 1, a supercharger 19 is not driven, and fuel-air mixture is naturally sucked in only from a main suction system 2 and is supplied to a combustion chamber 3. At this time, a supplementary throttle valve 26 is closed, and though the fuel is about to adhere to an inner wall of said supplementary suction passage 20 and flow back from said combustion chamber 3 during an opening of a cupplementary suction valve 17, its incoming to said passage 20 is prevented by a dam 30 of a ristriction means 29. Then, said fuel obstructed by said dam 30 is returned to said main suction passage 11 through a communicating pipe 31 and is supplied to said combustion chamber 3 again. |
