PURPOSE:To always hold an engine speed below its allowable maximum speed by providing a means for detecting the engine speed to discriminate if the maximum engine speed stays within the predeterminated range at the time of speed change and modifying the speed change point in a speed change map when the maximum engine speed shows out of the predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:Signals of a throttle opening sensor 80 for detecting the loaded condition of an engine 1, an output shaft sensor 82 for determining the rotating speed of an output shaft 70 and a turbine shaft sensor for detecting the rotating speed of a turbine shaft 22A are input in a computer 84. Thus, according to a predeterminated speed change map, electromagnetic solenoid valves S1, S2, SL, SD in an oil pressure control circuit 86 are driven and controlled, and engagement and combination between each clutch and brake, etc. are performed to control the speed change. Accordingly, the engine speed can be restrained below the allowable rotational speed even under the condition where the engine speed is liable to increase. |
