PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of wrinkles in an ink film by fixing the relative position of the ink film and a recording paper by printing dummy image consisting of straight lines in parallel with the feeding direction of the paper on the outside of the recording width of the main image during the thermal transfer recording period. CONSTITUTION:An ink film IF1 is sent while being tensioned in the direction of arrow B and also a recording paper RP1 is sent while being tensioned in the direction of arrow A. During the period, a main image G1 is transferred and recorded and dummy image DG1 and DG2 are transferred to the outside of the main image G1 on the recording paper RP1 by a thermal head THD1. By the printing of the dummy images, the position in the sending and vertical directions of the ink film IF1 is fixed and thereby the occurrence of wrinkles can be prevented. |
