<p>Rods of semiconductor material are drawn through a cross-shaped die floating on the molten material in a crucible. The material and shape of the die are selected to give minimal wetting. Si and Ge rods can be produced in this way. Pref. the die comprises at least one of graphite, anthracite (glassy-carbon), quartz, Al2O3, BeO, boron carbide, SiC, and BN.</p> |
