<p>Cross-linking agents for plastic and prepolymers with OH-groups, partic. for mfe of light-proof stoving enamels, consist of methylene-N-arylurethane-N'-amido cpds. prepd by reacting organic acid amides having at least 2 N-alkoxymethylamide groups with arylurethanes, pref. a phenyl urethane, at 80-150 degrees C, in the presence of an (in)organic acid catalyst. An example describe reaction of 1 mole hexamethylol melamine methyl ether with 6 moles phenyl urethane in chlorobenzene, at 130 degrees C, catalysed by p-toluenesulphonic acid, and use of product in cross-linking a copolymer of 50% styrene, 20% hydroxypropyl methacrylate and 30% butyl acrylate with OH-no.</p> |
