The truck or hopper has two pivoted leaves (12, 14) defining a discharge aperture between them. Posts (28, 30) extend upwardly from each leaf, one (30) being fixed and the other (28) slidable between positions in which it is respectively in conjunction and in disjunction with the fixed post, to hold the leaves closed or to allow them to open for discharge. A bell-crank (42) carries a roller (48) on one limb that engages a cam track (54) at the side of the rails, to cause the movable post (28) to move into disjunction with the fixed post (30), or to allow it to move into conjunction with it under the urging of a biassing spring-loaded lever (62). An arm (50) on each leaf carries a roller (52) that engages a cam track (58) to each side of the rails, to close the leaves before the posts are moved into conjunction after discharge. <IMAGE> |
