PURPOSE:To clean the end face by constituting a ferrule by integrating a heating heater of an optical fiber strand, so that a combustible which has stuck to the end face of the optical fiber strand is dissipated by only executing an electric conduction at all times or when necessary. CONSTITUTION:As for a ferrule 1, a heater 4 consisting of tungsten, etc., is inserted and attached integrally to an intermediate layer of two layers of insulating sleeves 2, 3 of ceramics, etc., and a lead wire 5 of its heater 4 is drawn out. This ferrule 1 is installed integrally to the periphery of the end part of an optical fiber strand 6. In this state, by executing an electric conduction to the heater 4, the optical fiber strand 6 is heated, and by its heat, a combustible substance such as an organic matter, etc., which has stuck to the end face of the strand is burned and eliminated, by which cleaning can be easily executed. |
