FINISHING DEVICE FOR SURFACE OF WELD BEAD

PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which permits finishing of the surfaces of weld beads to prescribed leg length and surface roughness in a narrow space with easy work by fixing a tool to the top end face of a cylindrical tool holder which is driven to rotate and cutting the fillet weld beads in the fixing parts at the top ends of sleeves suspended downward close together. CONSTITUTION:After a head 3 is located to the vicinity right under a sleeve 1 having weld beads 2 to be finished by operating a carriage 9, the head 3 is located accurately to the position right under the sleeve 1 by operating a forward and backward feed mechanism 8. The entire part of the device is moved upward gradually by operating a vertical feed mechanism 6 to enclose the sleeve 1 from the outer side with the tool holder. The device is moved upward until the positioning jigs of the head contact with the bottom end of the sleeve 1. The motor 28 of a head mechanism 4 is driven to rotate the tool holder and a tool 10 fixed to the tool holder. The tool 10 is fed gradually by operating the handle 34 of a tool feed mechanism 5, whereby the fillet weld beads 2 are cut and finished to prescribed leg length and surface roughness.
