1425087 Electric switchboards KRONE GmbH 25 July 1973 [17 Aug 1972] 35419/73 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] A three-phase circuit-breaking assembly comprises a casting resin casing with conductors 6 embedded in a rear part 1 and bus-bars 4 carried in a front part 3, fixed contacts 5, 32 connected to the conductors and bus-bars, and individually removable tubular contacts 9 cooperating with the fixed contacts. Each contact 9 carries at its outer end an insulating sleeve 10 within an insulating hood 13 which fits over a respective projecting tubular extension 15 of the casing and has a flange 16 which covers an aperture 17 for the insertion of an earthing rod. Each earthing rod, Fig. 6 (not shown) has a lateral projection for covering the opening in the extension 15 when the contact 9 has been removed from the extension and the earthing rod has been inserted through the aperture 17. Each sleeve 10 is provided with spring biased detents 43, 44 to retain the contact 9 in its fully inserted position and to cause the stressing of a spring in a withdrawal tool so that the contacts 5, 9 may be opened rapidly. The withdrawal tool (not shown) may be engaged in turn in a recess in the end of each hood 13. The sleeves 10 have radial holes to permit the venting of gases from arc-quenching means (not shown) within the contacts 9. |
