A method of preparing building boards comprises the steps of gluing together a number of veneer sheets to form a multiple board, cutting the multiple board into staves, turning the staves through ninety degrees and gluing their uncut surfaces together to form a core board. attaching a base board to each side of the core board to form a thick board, sawing through the middle of the core board to provide two boards and then grinding and surface treating the exposed veneered edge surfaces of the boards. The base boards may be of fibre board, chip board or hard board. |
