PURPOSE:To measure the quantity of electrostatic charge on pulverulent body by a method wherein the pulverulent body to be measured is made to adhere to an electroconductive measuring plate and the weight and electrostatic potential of the body are measured. CONSTITUTION:Pulverulent body 12 to be measured which is held in a hopper 11 is blown onto an electroconductive measuring plate 16 by compressed air 15 and made to adhere onto one surface thereof. The quantity of the pulverulent body adhering to the measuring plate 16 is measured by a load cell 19. The other surface of the measuring plate 16 is connected to one electrode, while the other electrode is connected to a capacitor 20 held at an earthed potential. The charge of the capacitor is measured by an electrostatic potential meter 22. Accordingly, the quantity of electrostatic charge Q can be found according to the formula Q=CV (where C is the electrostatic capacity of the capacitor 20), and further the quantity of electrostatic charge Q/M per a unit weight can be found by using the weight M of the adhering pulverulent body 12 to be measured. |
