PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time and to increase the processing time for storage and reading, by storing temporarily the picture information read by a reader in plural buffer memories with each unit and supplying successively the picture information in the memories to an output device. CONSTITUTION:A main controller 1 of a picture information storing/retrieving device is provided with a CPU 2 which controls each part, a title memory 3, a main memory 5, the 1st and 2nd buffer memories 6 and 7, etc. At the same time, a reader (secondary scanner) 11, a storage device (magnetic tape device) 12, a keyboard 15, output devices 16 and 17, etc. are connected to the controller 1. The picture information read by the reader 11 are stored temporarily in the memories 6 and 7 with each unit. When the picture information is read out of the device 12, the information is stored successively in the memories 6 and 7 with each unit and then supplied to the devices 16 and 17 with each unit. |
