PURPOSE:To separate even floppy recording paper easily and securely without scratching image formed parts on a recording medium surface, by driving a separation pawl so that only when a front end of the recording paper is separated, the separating pawl touches a nonimage area at the front end of an image formed part on the recording medium surface. CONSTITUTION:A rotatable separating pawl 14 is provided opposite to a roller 3, and is driven under such control that the tip of the pawl comes into contact with a surface of a recording medium 4 momentarily only when a front end of recording paper 13 is separated, and is not in contact with the recording medium surface 4 when the front end is not separated. In this case, a nonimage area is provided before an image part on the recording medium surface 4 and during the separation, the tip of the separating pawl 14 comes into contact in the nonimage area. A rotating shaft 141 provided successively to the roller 3 is provided with plural pawls 142 along the roller 3, and they are each edged atop. |
