PURPOSE:To make smooth rear wheel steering performable, by making the rate variable according to a steering ratio characteristic, in case of a rear wheel steering pulse motor to be controlled according to the steering ratio characteristic where the ratio of a rear wheel steering angle to a front wheel steering angle varied according to a car speed. CONSTITUTION:A rear steering mechanism 7 steers rear wheels 8L and 8R by what a pinion 13 to be engaged with the rack 12 formed in a rear wheel operating rod 11 is rotated by a pulse motor 14 via a pair of bevel gears 15, 16 and a pinion shaft 17. The pulse motor 14 is controlled according to the specified steering ratio characteristic where the ratio of a rear wheel steering angle to a front wheel steering angle varies according to a car speed. In this case, the pulse motor 14 makes its feed rate variable according to this steering ratio characteristic, and at both low and high speed ranges, it can be set so as to make the feed rate smaller. |
