The hydrofoil boat (6) has a pair of hydrofoils arranged in mirror image. These hydrofoils can be swung up about axes which are inclined relative to the water line (2) and intersect in the longitudinal centre plane of the boat. This ensures that the setting angle ( alpha ) of the hydrofoils is increased when the hydrofoils are swung out of the normal position (7) in opposite directions. The swing-up arrangement can thereby serve as an exchange aid. Swinging of the hydrofoils in the same direction acts like a rudder turn. Thus the swing-up arrangement for the hydrofoils can perform additional functions. <IMAGE>
